Description

DESC: 1010-01-138-4804, Part Number 3269552, the item to procure is a Buffer Rod Assembly, used on the MK 19 Machine Gun. The Buffer Rod Assembly is manufactured from 4130, 4140, 4145 or 8640 steel per astm A332 or A331. Assembly has 5 steel compon ents including buffer spring which is manufactured from chrome-silicon steel wire per ASTM A401. Wire size is square .125 X .125 with 16 coils as reference, option direction of Helix, Solid height is 2.150 inches, ends are closed and ground. Manufacture of 1 buffer tool assembly is required for installation of components. Buffer Tool is made from 4130 steel and 101-1025 steel. A First Article Test Report and Phosphate Coating is required. Requirements are 2,700 each, Buffer, Rod Assembly. The proposed contract will include a 200 percent option. Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. FOB is Destination. Estimated issue date is on or about 27 September 2004. This date is just an estimate. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any intere sted parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may rend er your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that will be provided via the internet, along with the soliciation.
