Description
Amendment 01: This amendment is being issued to include the Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX), located at the University of Maryland, into this intent to negotiate on a sole source basis for Internet2 services. (END OF AMENDMENT) NOAA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the University of Texas, University of Utah, and the University of Missouri-Columbia for the renewal of Internet2 services for 1-year. Internet2 is provided via GigaPoP which is certified and authorized to provide Internet2 connectivity through the University Consortium for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID) and are geographically dispersed across the USA. The Internet2 is used to convey WSR-88D (NEXRAD) Level II radar data to NWS university partners, to private sector weather companies, to other government agencies such as NASA and the FAA, to NCEP, and to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) for archival purposes. The period of performance for these acquisitions are for one year and this acquisition will be accomplished in accordance with FAR Subpart 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. All interested and responsible parties must provide capability documentation to be reviewed by the NOAA technical team no later than close of business September 22, 2004.
