Description

Notice of Contract Action. Edwards AFB has a requirement to research thermal decomposition and ignition of advanced monopropellants for the Air Force Research Laboratory located at Edwards AFB, CA. The method of ignition will be characterized and should allow a small workhorse thruster to be developed utilizing the ignition method. The period of performance will be 90 days from the date of award of the contract. The proposed action is for ignition studies in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Purdue University under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Anticipated Award Date is 14 Oct 2004. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, 12 Oct 2004. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 10 days of the publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Facsimile responses are acceptable and must be received on or before the closing date. Telephone requests to be placed on a mailing list will not be honored.
