- In Fiscal Year 2005, the US Forest Service, IDAWY Acquisition Service Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho is planning to award a multi-year or 5-years Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for precommercial tree thinning. In the urban interface areas, some of the acres will also require slash treatment by hand piling. The work will involve thinning stands that are approximately 20-25 years of age and approximately 10-20 feet tall and at spacing of 11' x 11.' The stands to be treated will be determined at a later date and based upon budget constraints. Stands to be toured in the immediate future prior to issuing the solicitation are located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in the Ashton/Island Park/Montpelier Ranger Districts. The tour for the Ashton/Island Park Ranger District is planned for October 20, 2004 and the tour for the Montpelier Ranger District is planned for October 21, 2004.
