Description

The government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, sole source contract under FAR 6.302-1 procedures for Other Than Full and Open Competition to The Babcock & Wilcox Company, PO Box 665, Barberton, OH 44203-0665. Use of any other make or manufactured material would not be mechanically compatible and would render the operational safety and performance standards and warranties of the ship's steam plant propulsion generating systems useless. Anticipated award date is 8 October 2004. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the government. Quotes shall be submitted by 7 October 2004, 12:00PM EST. The government intends to request written quotes in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The RFQ may be obtained by contacting the points of contact identified in this synopsis. The Contractor shall provide 46 assembly economizers and 16 desuperheater assemblies with flanges, support tube material and flexitallic gaskets for steam boilers as required by the USS John F. Kennedy. This is not a set-aside procurement. The resulting contract will result in a delivery period of 33 weeks after date of contract. NAICS 332410 applies with a size standard of 500 people.
