- Description
- Fifteen days after publication of this notice, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) intends to issue a purchase order to MadMax Optics. The work will involve collaboration with Professor Anthony Levi in the DARPA Microsystems Technology Office to better understand the behavior of amorphous optical materials, fast and accurate numerical methods for the simulation of Maxwell?s equations and the design of such materials. MadMax Optics invented the Fast Multipole Algorithm (FMM) algorithm for Computational ElectroMagnetic Modeling (CEM) which has become an industry standard for D0D electromagnetic design by virtue of its unique capability to perform fast, accurate, well conditioned CEM computations. This order shall be for an amount less than $100,000 and the research to be provided shall take place within a period of twelve months after issuance of the purchase order. This notice is not a solicitation of any kind, nor is it a request for proposals. The DARPA point of contact, if necessary, is Scott Ulrey, Contracting Officer, at sulrey@darpa.mil.
