- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. The United States Senate Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is interested in receiving information, which may include vendor presentations and demonstrations, on technology and products for Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for vehicles. This RFI is part of the market research being conducted in order to ascertain the feasibility and limitations of using GPS technology, either under development or off-the-shelf for SAA vehicles. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, stolen auto recovery assistance, remote activated car door locks, road side assistance plan coverage, web enabled client access for vehicle tracking, parked car towing alert notification, find my parked car lights and horn activation, excessive speed notifications, automatic theft (hot-wire) notification in real time, engine disable, archival vehicle tracking records, and remote start for cold weather or executive security. Responses are due no later than October 29, 2004 at 12:00 Noon EDT and shall be submitted electronically via e-mail only to acquisitions@saa.senate.gov to the attention of the POC. Access by the SAA to information in any files attached to a response is the responsibility of the submitting party. The SAA is not responsible for any failure to access information. The subject line of the e-mail message shall be 2005-RFI-001 GPS. The response must contain: 1) General Information about your firm (Company Name, Address, Point of Contact, Telephone Number, E-mail address, DUNS Number, and Tax ID Number); 2) Technical product literature that demonstrates the GPS functions and features; 3) GSA or commercial price lists (if available); and 4) references (agency/client name, point of contact, and phone number). At the SAA option, product demonstrations may be requested from vendors responding to this announcement. These demonstrations shall be performed at the United States Senate, Washington D.C. in the fall of 2004 and should take no longer than three hours. The Senate or the SAA will not be responsible for any costs for the preparation of responses to this announcement or demonstrations. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT AND IS THE ONLY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SAA OR U.S. SENATE. REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE HONORED.
