- Description
- The Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) has developed a simplified design and process for nitrogen oxides (NOx) reduction at fossil-energy-fired power plants, which greatly reduces the amounts of ammonia required in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) NOx control systems. This new design and process reduces costs, equipment requirements, the need for ammonia storage, and operating risks. INEEL is presently seeking interest from qualified industrial firms to undertake a new research and development project that will focus on the design and fabrication of a small-scale prototype system that demonstrates the ability to greatly reducing the amount of ammonia required for NOx reduction in a power plant. The NOx reduction project will seek to reduce the capital costs of current operating fossil-energy-fired power plants using SCR NOx control systems. The development project will culminate with deployment and demonstration of a prototype system. The INEEL is soliciting interest from qualified industrial firms interested in participating in this project. It is anticipated that the project will be carried out through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with funding and ?in-kind? support being provided by the participant(s). Interested parties should respond on or before December 6, 2004. For questions regarding the proposed project, please contact: TECHNICAL POINT OF CONTACT: Robert S.
