Description
Solicitation N62836-05-R-6507. Planned due date: 2 December 2004. This is a request for proposal (RFP) for a construction contract. The contractor shall provide all engineering, and construction services necessary for this constriction. RFP issue date on or after 20 October 2004. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall complete the entire work, ready for use, not later than 584 calendar days after the Contractor receives the notice to proceed. The work includes the construction of the Navy Exchange NEXCOM facility and other incidental related work including temporary work to complete the entire project. Work will be phased as shown on the drawing Division No. PH-1. Existing material known to contain asbestos and lead-based paint will be encountered on existing building 110 to be demolished. The Contractor shall remove the asbestos and lead-based paint in accordance with applicable codes, rules, and regulations, and Section 13281, ?Engineering Control of Asbestos Containing Materials? and Section 13283 ?Removal and Disposal of Lead Based Paint?. This project includes one or more construction options. The options may or may not be awarded depending on the bid prices. The material, labor and equipment prices for the options shall not be included in the base bid and shall be listed separately on the bid sheet. The description of work for each construction option is as follows: Option 1: Brick pavers for sidewalk along north and south of shopping mall and sidewalk between shopping and parking stall. Option 2: Retaining wall and ramp. LOCATION: The work is located at Commander Fleet Activities, Sasebo, Japan. All proposal shall be in the English language and priced in Japanese Yen only. This will be an electronic solicitation only. No paper solicitation will be issued.
