- Description
- As part of the current and continuing collaborative agreement between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), CDC provides a Lipid Standardization Program (LSP) for the evaluation and monitoring of laboratory test performance of lipid and lipoprotein analytical measurement. The purpose of this project is to provide for the collection and preparation of pooled serum samples and other related serum products for use in performance evaluation surveys and to package, store and mail these samples to laboratories specified by CDC. Performance of the serum samples is correlated with standard quality control and quality assurance measurements as determined by CDC. The Contractor will prepare, store, and distribute to participating laboratories, frozen pooled human serum suitable for cholesterol, triglyceride, and high-density lipoprotein measurement. Award of a Firm Fixed Price contract in is contemplated. There will be a base period of performance of 12 months and four 12-month option periods. The total base and option periods shall not exceed 60 months. Full and Open Competition will be used in soliciting offers for this requirement. The NAICS Code is 541380. The solicitation will be posted on the Internet at www.eps.gov on or around July 2, 2004. No telephone requests, hard copies or email copies of the solicitation will be accepted. Prospective offerors will be required to download all information concerning this Request For Proposal from www.eps.gov under solicitation number 2004-N-01325.
