Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $500,000. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC HATCHET (WLIC-75209), a 75-FOOT ?D? CLASS CONSTRUCTION TENDER AND 68 FOOT BARGE. All work will be performed at contractors place of performance. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date of 21 FEBRUARY 2005. The home pier of the cutter is GALVESTON, TX. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC HATCHET (WLIC-75209). This cutter is restricted to no open water transit further restricted from Brownsville, TX to Carabellle, Fl via Intra Coastal Waterways. This work will include, but is not limited to, (1) Welding Repairs (2) Clean Diesel Fuel Tanks (3) Clean Sewage Tank and Overhaul discharge sewage pump (4) Renew Watertight Doors (5) Remove, Inspect, and reinstall propeller shafts (6) Remove, Inspect, and reinstall propeller (7) Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propeller (8) Clean, Inspect, and test grid coolers (9) Preserve Transducer Hull Rings (10) Clean Engine Room Ventilation System (11) Inspect and overhaul duplex sea strainers (12) Overhaul, Renew and Test Overboard valves (13) Cover and Protect Weatherford CG300 Hydraulic aton Crane (14) Preserve Barge Spuds and Spud Wells (15) Inspect Various Deck Fittings (16) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck (17) Preserve Underwater Body (18) Preserve Freeboard (19) Renew Cathodic Protection System However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to http://bbaechle@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax at (757) 628-4676. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by October 19, 2004. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on FedBizOpps.
