Description

Outserts, Neutral, NSN: 4240-01-260-8706, P/N 5-1-1545-20; Outserts, Clear, NSN: 4240-01-260-8707, P/N 5-1-1545-10; Outserts, Laser Ballistic, NSN: 4240-01- 434-1503, P/N 5-1-2721;Lens, Left, NSN: 4240-01-269-5275, P/N 5-1-1058-2; Lens, Right, NSN: 4 240-01-291-6270; requirements for use on the M40/M42 Chemical Biological Masks are being solicited. The Outserts consist of pairs of left- and right-handed lenses molded from polycarbonate material installed in molded rubber boots with an alloy retainer r ing. The Lenses are individual left or right lenses molded from polycarbonate material. These components are required to pass first article agent permeation testing. FOB is Destination. This solicitation is issued as a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 30,000 each Neutral Outserts and 50,000 each Clear Outserts. Planned release date of the solicitation is 29 Oct 2004. The government may order up to a maximum quantity of 2,550,000 pairs of Outserts and 500,000 Lenses over the life of the contract. The Neutral Outserts estimated requirements are 282,000 pair. Clear Outserts estimated requirements are 376,500 pair. The Laser Ballisti c Outserts estimated requirements are 11,300 pair. The Left Lens estimated requirements are 250,000 each. The Right Lens estimated requirements are 250,000 each. First Article Testing is required, but may be waived. All or part of this action is curren tly unfunded. The solicitation is unrestricted and will result in a firm fixed price contract. This is a Best Value procurement, and past performance and technical factors will be evaluated along with price. This solicitation will be issued electronically.
