Description

The Joint Strike Fighter Program Office intends to issue a sole source order against Basic Ordering Agreement Number N00019-02-G-3104 to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, P.O. Box 748, Fort Worth, TX 76101. This order will require Lockheed Martin to examine how the JSF Air System will satisfy specific partner nations safety requirements. This study will develop a recommendation on the use of a tool to capture the Safety Case Argument and conduct further argument refinement. This contract will investigate the technical feasibility, operational implications and cost associated with integrating the partner safety requirements on the JSF aircraft. Lockheed Martin is the only responsible source, as they are the only firm with the requisite knowledge as the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the JSF Air System capable of supporting this requirement.
