Description
NAICS Code: 541620 The purpose of this amendment to RFQ-DC-04-00339 is to provide the following questions and answers for clarity: (Q1.) The RFQ states that the purpose of the Purchase Order is, in part, to investigate the potential implications of industrial ecology and genomics on the future of radiation protection "through two speaker/forum events." It then notes that two additional speaker/forum events "will be held" but does not state when these two additional events will be held or whether they are to be conducted by the Contractor during the term of the contract. It only states that "The Contractor shall provide technical assistance to EPA in identifying four speaker/forum events." Please clarify how many speaker/forum events must be conducted by the Contractor during the term of the contract. (A1.) The Contractor shall conduct a total of four (4) speaker/forum events, one on genomics, one on industrial ecology and two others on subjects relating to radiation protection as determined in consultation with the COR. While there is no set schedule for arranging the events, the last of the events will be held no later than September 15, 2005. (Q2.) The RFQ notes that the RPD Innovation Team's past investigations have included "seminars open to a broad range of participants from public as well as private sectors, joint efforts with academic and non-profit institutions and the application of industrial ecology principles, and visits to organizations outside the DC area to interview leading experts in the topics being explored." Please provide web links to the seminar proceedings and any other relevant information resulting from these past investigations. If such material is not available, please indicate the time period over which such past seminars have been held and any other available information about the seminars and other activities. (A2.) The following URL is provided with information on previous speaker/forum events: http://www.environmentalfutures.org/radiation.htm (Q3.) Is there an incumbent Contractor? (A3.) While there is no incumbent Contractor, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars' Foresight and Governance Project provided assistance with similar work under a grant.
