- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT AND IN NO WAY OBLIGATES THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD ANY CONTRACT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS TO SEEK QUALIFIED FIRMS CAPABLE OF PROVIDING THE PROGRAMMING, PLANNING, AND DEVELOPING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A CAF? FOR THE NEW SAN FRANCISCO FEDERAL BUILDING. RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. AFTER REVIEW OF THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT, A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY BE PUBLISHED IN THE FEDBIZOPPS WEBSITE. NOTE: A SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. RESPONSE TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST TO BE ADDED TO A PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS LIST OR TO RECEIVE A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. BACKGROUND A caf? to service the needs of the 1,600 employees and unknown number or visitors to this facility will be located in an independent 3,000 square foot building on the corner of Mission Street and Seventh Street in the plaza of the new federal building. The construction of the new San Francisco Federal Building will be completed in April 2006. This ?cafe? level facility shall include at a minimum, but not be limited to the following: a kitchen; dishwashing area; two restrooms; serving area and seating. The Design/Build contractor will base their design/construction on pre-established rough-ins. The Design/Build contractor should document a complete set of working drawings and specifications. The Design/Build contractor will also provide all of the necessary documentation, plans and schedules related to food service equipment. The Design/Build contractor will provide at least one interior rendering of the entire caf? including finishes of floor, casework, ceiling and equipment. The Design Builder will provide all the necessary documents for design and construction of the work described including cost estimates and schematic design. The Design/Build contractor will receive design consultation services from the Project Architect for the New Federal Building in regards to the public space of the caf?. The Government is looking for firms with SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN DESIGN-BUILD EXPERIENCE; one who will bear responsibility to insure the design meets all current applicable codes and acquire the necessary permits for operation.
