Description
The purpose for this Request for Industry Comment (RFIC) is to solicit information from vendors regarding the tasks described in the draft Statement of Work (SOW). The Department of Education's (ED) acquisition strategy is to conduct a procurement that will be set-aside for 8(a) Native American owned firms in the Middle-Atlantic region. In formulating the acquisition strategy, ED is seeking industry expertise to evaluate the feasibility of this task as well as provide any comments or suggestions that may help to better define the objectives of this task. In particular, ED would greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions concerning the following: Is a firm fixed price contract feasible for the requirement as Currently written? If not what additional information is necessary? Please feel free to comments on any other aspect of this initiative. The Government is receptive to innovative, creative solutions and thanks you very much for your assistance. Please submit your suggestions, comments and response electronically by January 6, 2004 to: Dorothy.Moody@ed.gov with a cc to Jeff.Johnson@ed.gov. DISCLAIMER This RFIC is being issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFIC or to otherwise pay for information received in response to this RFIC. All information received in response to this RFIC that is marked “Proprietary” will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFIC will not be returned. Information provided in response to this RFIC will be used to assess alternatives available for determining how to proceed in the acquisition process. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e), responses to this RFIC are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFIC.
