- PURPOSE: The purpose of this initial market survey is to: 1. Provide industry with the Federal Aviation Administration???s (FAA) projected voice switching requirements that will fulfill FAA???s future vision for the National Airspace System (NAS). These projected requirements are as described in the high-level NAS document, the NAS Architecture 4; and 2. To have industry describe how state-of-the-art voice switch technology that is available (or in development) from air traffic control (ATC) voice switch vendors that may meet these requirements. For those requirements that are not met by voice switching products currently available, the FAA is interested in how easily the un-met requirements can be added and the time frame for such developmental activities. Advise whether the absent requirement is currently being developed through internal research and development (IR&D) or is the development anticipated through an FAA-funded contract. FAA anticipates using the information contained in your responses to refine its future voice switch requirements. FAA views this request as one of several additional market surveys. Proprietary information/data may be submitted and will be handled according to FAA procedures. This public notice is not intended to guarantee procurement of requirements addressed in this market survey. The FAA is not liable for costs associated with the preparation, submittal of inquiries, or responses to this market survey and shall not reimburse any firm for any costs incurred in responding or preparing responses to this Market Survey.
