Description

The contractor is required to provide services as a Fire Workforce Diversity Student Career Experience Program (FWD SCEP) Coordinator. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervisor, transportation, supplies, and incidentals. The objective is to develop strong fire management leadership through educational and on-the-job eexperieces. The contractor responsibilities include: Application process for internal and external sources; recruiting students, orientation, marketing, participant monitoring and reporting. Contractor qualifications include: experience and ability to act as liason between the USDA FS and academic advisors; practical experiene in prescribed fire and wildland fire suppression/mitigation/prevention; familiar with FS student employment programs (graduate and undergraduate); familiar with FS fire policy, fire program attributes and wildland fire ecology; familiar with Rocky Mountain Regions ecosystems and wildland fire mamagement issues; familiar with Urban/Rural Wildland Interface fire issues; and have immediate access to FS facilities for line officer consulation and communication. This is a performace based contract and the follow factors will be evaluated for award consideration: Past Performance, Past Experience and Key Personnel. The contract period of performance includes a base year and four one-year options. This solicitation will be issued on or about October 26, 2004.
