Description

Yellowstone National Park is requesting quotations for the rental of three Caterpillar MT 855 Challenger Tractors (rubber tracked), or equal, for winter grooming in the 2004-2005 winter season. Two of these vehicles with require 36" rubber tracks, the other with a 30" rubber track. The Government has procured a Leon 14 X44 dozer blade model #QMT 800 with hydraulic tilt kit hydraulic angle. This blade fits on the above stated tractor. If an equal is proposed, it will be evaluated on the fit of this blade as well as specifications to be considered equal to the Caterpillar. In addition, whether a Caterpillar or equal is proposed, it must meet the below-specified option on the Caterpillar or a demonstration why they are equal on any other model. Award will be made to the low quoter, who meets these criteria. Please submit an hourly rate price for rental as well as a description of the units to be rented. The Government estimates that vehicles will be used for 3000 hours (1000 per unit). It can be more or less, depending on the snow conditions. The minimum guaranteed hours are 300 (100 per unit). Dates needed will be as follows: One 36 inch track will be needed by November 5, 2004 with the other two delivered no later than November 22, 2004. Units to be returned to the vendor no later than April 5, 2005. Government will pickup and deliver within a 150 mile radius of Mammoth Hot Springs. Otherwise, please include cost of delivery in the hourly rental price. This announcement will serve as the only solicitation notice. No further document will be issued. Responses must be faxed to 307-344-2079 or emailed to patty_oestreich@nps.gov and received no later than October 28, 2004, 4:00 p.m. Options to be included per each vehicle: 450 horsepower 1 with rubber tracks 30" chevron style 2 with rubber tracks 36" chevron style 2 hydraulic ports (4 lines) in the front 4 hydraulic ports (8 lines) in the rear Cold front (to keep the snow out of the radiator) Standard seat Deluxe cab Night breaker lights Wide swing drawbar Pump 59 gpm 9 pin connector Radar Accessory bar Remote radio control CD player/changer Sub woofer amp Switch 7 pin power Ecology drain Sump heater Engine block heater Hand rail Engine shield
