NA " General: The National Park Service, Department of Interior, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the National Business Center. Proposal documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML and Adobe PDF, Specifications will be available in Adobe PDF format, and drawings will be available in TIFF format. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. " Proposed Issue Date: On or about October 29, 2004 " Title of Project: Curry Village Employee Housing Project Description: The work of this contract consists of constructing a new employee-housing complex on an undeveloped site located adjacent to the Curry Village historic district. The employee-housing complex includes 22 one or two-story residential structures, 4 structures housing shared facilities (the "Commons" building), a "Wellness Center," a storage building, and other miscellaneous small structures and fences. Fire and potable water, wastewater, propane gas, electrical power, heat pump thermal dispersion field piping, data and communications conduit and wiring, fencing, parking lots and roadways, and overall site development are included in the project. The heating and cooling system for the new employee housing complex will consist of the installation of a geothermal ground source heat loop. Based on the design criteria of the geothermal loop, it is estimated that 175, 5-inch borings will need to be installed to a depth of 280 feet. The loop contractor shall be experienced in loop design and installation. Vertical boreholes shall be drilled by a licensed and IGSHPA certified contractor experienced in ground loop drilling and grouting procedures for projects of similar size and scope. All work will be performed under a single contract. Re-vegetation work will be conducted under a separate concurrent contract. Coordinate work of this contract with the re-vegetation contractor. Re-vegetation drawings and specifications are included for information only. " Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability equal to its price. Award will be made to the offeror whose proposal offers the best value to the Government. " Estimated price range, more than $10,000,000. " Time for completion, 480 calendar days. " Proposal receipt date is approximate; actual date will be established at the time proposal documents are available. " All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered.
