Description
VISN 15 Contracting is advertising for A/E Services for preparation of schematics, design development, construction documents, construction costs estimates and construction period services to complete Project No. 657A1-04-121, Replace Fire Alarm System at the John Cochran Division of the St. Louis VA Medical Center. This project will completely replace the existing fire alarm system at the JC Division. The services of a Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) are required for this project. The FPE shall have the following: 1)Registered professional engineer as a FPE, 2) Two years experience in application and interpretationof NFPA Codes and Standards and the model building codes, 3) Two years experience in the design/review of fire detection and alarm systems 4) Two yearsexperience in the design of health care facilities, 5) Two years experience in acceptance tests of fire detection and alarm systems. Only firms with in-house architectural services, experienced in the design of similar projects will be considered. Only architects or architect/engineer firms (small businesses and large) demonstrating the required qualifications listed above under FPE will be considered. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No material will be issued and no solicitation packages or bidder/plan holders list will be issued. A/E firms are required to submit SF 330 (4 copies)(or See Number Note No. 24--also 4 copies)to the attention of the Contracting Officer no later than November 15, 2004. This acquisition is limited to firms located within a 75-mile radius of St. Louis, Missouri, Otherwise, this acquisition is unrestricted, meaning any firm can apply regardless of business size. NAICS Code 541310. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated to be awarded. See Numbered Notes 24 & 25.
