Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Afghanistan Engineer District (AED) has been tasked to remodel a Special Investigative Unit (SIU) in Tashkent Uzbekistan and to construct facilities at a Maritime Boat Operations Unit (MBO) at three sites nea r Termez, Uzbekistan. At the SIU project, the work consists of the rehabilitation of an early 20th century hospital building, so that it can be used as offices. At the MBO sites, work consists of constructing Boat Ramps and docks, river bank stabilizatio n with revetments, and road paving. AED is conducting Market Research to determine the availability of qualified construction firms interested in the aforementioned construction work in Uzbekistan. The work at the two Uzbekistan sites can be separated in to two distinct projects or bid and managed together. The estimated combined value of the work at the two sites is $1-5M U.S. AED is interested in a design/build contractor for these projects. AED plans to advertise and solicit Contractor proposals in N ovember 2004.
