- Description
- Ogden Air Logistics Center will host an industry conference November 18th at the Davis Convention Center in Layton, Utah. We plan to address exciting purchasing and supply management initiatives underway in our Secondary Power Systems Commodity Division aimed at returning greater value to the Air Force. Areas we wish to discuss include identifying new sources of supply, increasing the number of competitively purchased parts, improving the performance of sole source suppliers (where appropriate,) exploring new technologies that increase reliability and reduce lifecycle costs, and finding ways to reduce acquisition/production cycle times. The bottom line is our strategies must contribute to a 20% increase in materiel availability, a 20% decrease in overall costs, and a 50% reduction in sourcing cycle time! The Federal Stock Classes (FSC) identified as “secondary power systems” commodities and targeted by this conference include 2805, 2815, 2835, 2910, 2920, 2930, 2950, and 2990. In addition to our conference presentations, we have scheduled a tour of our maintenance facility at Hill AFB on the afternoon of November 17th, which you are welcome to attend. This tour puts our operations in perspective, and will help give you a better understanding of our requirements. We also encourage you to meet with our team for a 30-minute, one-on-one session on November 18th or 19th to talk about what your company can offer, and how we might make improvements to our plans. We will contact you to schedule a session once you’ve registered. To register for this conference, please visit our website at http://www.hill.af.mil/lg2/SecPowerSys. Registration opens on October 18th and closes November 5th. A registration fee of $25 per person applies, which will be collected at the door. We will post a detailed agenda and itinerary, maps, directions, and information on the local area on our website in early November, so please check back for updates. Please take advantage of the special $69.00 rate at the Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to the Convention Center. You can make your reservation at (801) 416-8888. Be sure to mention that you are part of the Secondary Power Systems Industry Conference to receive this rate. This special notice is for Industry Conference only and no solicitation is available at this time. Any resulting procurement action will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. The Government will not reimburse attendees for any costs associated with participation and is under no obligation to award any contract associated with this event. Information provided is for discussion purposes only. Any potential strategy for these initiatives may change prior to solicitation release. If you have any questions, contact Capt Mike Belko at (801) 775-2016, Ola Kamakau at (801) 586-7288, or email at ooalc.lgm.pscc@hill.af.mil NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-OCT-2004); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
