Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Teaming Opportunity for the Instrument incubator Program (IIP) NRA which was posted on September 28, 2004. You are notified that the following additional technical requirements are added. Technical POC: Chris Hostetler, (757)864-5373, email, Chris.A.Hostetler@nasa.gov We are considering a proposal to develop a laser system that will function as a lidar transmitter for both (1) UV ozone differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements and (2) High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) measurements. The proposal will be in response to the current Instrument Incubator Announcement, and the transmitter technologies developed under this proposed effort must show a path to future space and unpiloted aerial vehicle (UAV) applications. We are interested in partnering with others that have technical expertise in either or both of the following capabilities. 1) Develop, test and deliver a diode pumped, conductively cooled Nd:YAG laser system that is seeded to produce tunable, single longitudinal mode output. 2) Develop, test and deliver a UV converter module that would accept the 355nm output from a pump laser and efficiently convert it to tunable UV radiation in either of two wavelength bands 308-320 nm or 285-311 nm to produce both the online and offline wavelength pair. Both the pump laser and UV converter would be integrated into an existing lidar system for deployment and testing on a pressurized aircraft. The due date for responses is extended to October 29, 2004.
