Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted for this proposed project to determine if there are adequate contractors that meet the Small Business Administrations (SBA) HUBZONE Business requirements for a competitive set-aside award. The proposed contract wi ll be to construct a 71,635 square foot C-5 hangar at the Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. The building will be a fully enclosed hangar to allow C-5 aircraft full wash and spot paint capability. The hangar will permit aircraft jacking and include a C-5 fabrication shop to support aircraft maintenance operations. The facility will include concrete slab-on-grade, steel structure, composite metal panel wall system, structural standing seam metal roof panel with rigid insulation and interior liner panel s, gypsum board partitions, insulated glass window units, casework, interior and exterior lighting, HVAC and plumbing systems, communications, electrical work, automatic sprinklers, fire protection, site work, concrete paving, utilities, and demolition wor k. Twenty percent (20%) of the work must be self-performed. This project is planned for advertising in December 2004, with award scheduled in February 2005. Contract duration is estimated at 390 days. NAICS Code is 236220. The estimated cost range is $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. All interested HUBZONE contractor s must notify this office in writing by mail or fax by 01 November 2004, 4:30 PM Louisville local time. Responses should include: (1) identification of the company as a HUBZONE contractor, (2) Past Experience  describe completed projects that are similar in size and scope to the proposed project, the percentage and type of self-performed work, and the performance rating for the work, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for the project in the dollar range listed above. NOTE: If a su fficient number of qualified HUBZONE firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to a full and open competition.
