Description

The US Coast Guard intends to negotiate a Sole Source purchase order with IBM Corporation, Coppell, TX under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Soliciting from a Single Source for hardware maintenance support. IBM is the original equipment manufacture for the legacy hardware equipment. Maintenance by the original equipment manufacturer is required to maintain consistency in stock parts, repairs and scheduled maintenance. Based on the aforementioned reason, IBM Corporation is the only source that can satisfy this requirement. A fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about November 1, 2004. All services to be performed at the Coast Guard Personnel Services Center; Topeka, KS. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement, in writing, no later than 12:00 PM October 28, 2004. Send email to cmack@comdt.uscg.mil to obtain a list of equipment. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
