- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-25 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This action is unrestricted, has a NAICS code of 336992 And a size standard of 1,000 employees. This solicitation contains (2) two CLINs; it is the government's intent of awarding a firm-fixed price requirement contract for a base one-year with (4) one-year option periods. The Marine Corps Logistics Command; Albany, Georgia has a requirement for the following items. Repair Drive Flanges part number 10501041, all work! will be preformed according to drawing number 10501041. General Dynamics Land Systems Canada Corp is the manufacturer of this part. CLIN 0001: The following criteria are required to repair Drive Flange p/n 10501041: A. Remove existing coatings (plasma & chrome) below the chrome plating to the raw metal. B. Apply new plasma coating AMT 120 Cr2O2 per the following specs: (1) Powder Type: Cr2O1, 5SI02, 3TIO1 (Note: the 2 and the 1 are subscripts), (2) Product: Metco 136F, (3) Nominal Particle Size & Specification: -88 - 11µm WIMS 648, (4) Typical Properties & Specifications: High wear and corrosion resistance, (5) Tough finish resists mechanical shock better than other ceramics, (6) Good low friction characteristics, and (7) Chemistry: 3% Ti203, 5% Si203, Bal. Cr203. C. Apply new chrome plating material, and finish as per drawing 10501041. D. Handling and Transportation: The service provider will pick up material at designated area with in the fenced area of building ! 2200, MCLB, Albany, Ga. Delivery of completed items will be to Warehouse 1331 Door 10, MCLB, Albany, Ga. There will be 8-20 units per shipment not to exceed 400 per year. E. Quality Assurance Provision. The service provider will provide quality service in accordance with the applicable documents listed below. F. All work will be preformed according to drawing 10501041. General Dynamics Land Systems Canda Corp is the manufacturer of this part. A. Remove existing coating (chrome) to below the chrome plating down to the original surface metal surface to a dimension of 49.90 +0.000/0.025 mm diameter as shown on the drawing in the before chroming info on the drawing. B. Apply new chrome plating per the following specifications: 1. Chrome plating hardness to be 780-900 HV (HRC 63-67). Hydrogen extraction: 3 1/2 to 4 hours at 180 degree C, start within 1 hour after chrome plating. 2. Mechanical properties at 920 N/mm2, (a) Surface hardness - 302 HB, (b) Yield strength 750 ! N/mm2, (c) Elongation in 50 M/M - 1/8%, (d) Reduction in area 55%. The government reserves the right to select bids based on cost, delivery schedule, and as most advantageous to the government. The Government will award a contract resulting from his solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation, is considered to be the best value to the Government. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers and determine the best value to the Government: Price, Technical Acceptance, and Delivery. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial product, provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government.
