- LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY SEEKS RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS WITH INDUSTRY TO DEVELOP AND COMMERCIALIZE OPTICAL SYSTEMS AND IMAGE PROCESSING ALGORITHMS TO SUPPORT NATIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY MISSION PRIORITIES Announcement: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), operated by the University of California under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is offering expertise, capabilities, and technology to conduct collaborative research and development work with industrial partners to support National Homeland Security mission priorities. LLNL conducts research and development in optical sciences and image analysis for National Homeland Security applications. Key areas of emphasis include the development of new optical systems and image processing algorithms, and their deployment and application. LLNL is now seeking industrial partners for collaborations in the development, deployment and commercialization of technologies in these areas, with a particular emphasis being placed on optical system integration (i.e., digital video camera) with embedded image processing modules. Key ongoing activities include the development of hardware and software for imaging applications. Note: THIS IS NOT A PROCUREMENT. Companies interested in working with LLNL should have specific projects and opportunities for joint research and development work to support National Homeland Security mission priorities. Companies should provide a written statement of interest that includes the following: 1. Company name and address 2. The name, address, and telephone number of a point of contact 3. A description of corporate expertise and facilities relevant to developing and commercializing video system technology 4.
