Description
THIS IS AN AMEMDMENT TO REQUEST FOR (RFI) NUMBER 3709 FOR THE AUTOMATED SURFACE WEATHER OBSERVATION SYSTEM (ASWOS) This is only a request for information to determine if adequate competition exists for the procurement of three land-based Automated Surface Weather Observations Systems (ASWOS). There may an option for an additional system. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a Request for Quote (RFQ). All interested parties should prepare an information packet containing a technically detailed description of how they will be able to provide and the systems that conform to FAA specification FAA-E2984, attached to this RFI as Attachment A. The information packet should include a schedule of anticipated activities leading up to the delivery all three systems by April 1, 2005. This schedule should include identification of the documentation cited in Attachment A. The schedule should also include activities such as time allowed for documentation preparation. Instructions to Responders: Respondents are free to develop their responses as they see to fit. At a minimum, a response should address the following areas: 1. Description of item. Please technically describe the item that will satisfy the requirements as set out in Attachments A and B to this RFI. 2. Schedule estimates. Please provide a schedule of activities leading up to the delivery of all three systems by April 1, 2005. (Delivery is defined as delivering the systems to the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, OK) 3. Additional Materials. Please provide any other materials, suggestions, and discussion you deem appropriate. 4. Subcontracting Plans. Any proposal to have portions of the work performed by subcontractors should affirm the respondent's ability to acquire such subcontractor's performance. Since you have already provided information regarding your corporate expertise, your product, your financial position, cost information for the systems with the initial RFI and overall history of your company, those elements are not requested again, since they will not be considered for the purposes of this RFI. However, responders to this RFI may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their submittal. Any proprietary information should be so marked. The FAA will not reimburse vendors for any cost associated with responding to this RFI. This RFI does not obligate the Government any anyway. Please submit your information packet either electronically or hard copy to the following addresses: Federal Aviation Administration, Contracts Services Branch ATO-A, 800 Independence Avenue SW, RM. 408, Washington, DC 20591, ATTN: Elisa Brown or Elisa.Brown@faa.gov.
