Item 0001 is a Bearing, Roller, Cylinder. NSN: 3110008649276RV. P/N: 389821 DESCRIPTION: The Bearing is a steel cylindrical roller type bearing consisting of an outer race, inner race, cage and rollers. There are a total of sixteen (16) rollers retained within the bearing cage. Cage and rollers are non-separable. Bearing outer race, inner race, cage and rollers, when assembled constitute makeup of the entire bearing assembly. The function of the bearing is to absorb high-speed radial load as created by the generator drive spur gear shaft located within the main engine gearbox. This bearing also provides support for the forward end of the generating drive spur gear shaft. DIMENSION: Width .7874? X Bore DIA 1.9683/1.9685? X outside DIA 3.5433?. Standard tolerance is RBEC #5. Internal clearance 0.0012 MIN/ .0022 Inches Max Radial. MATERIAL: Outer race ? PWA 723 Steel/Inner race and roller is PWA 723/Cage is made of AMS 4616 Forged. IAW Current drawings. QTY: Range of 63 Max, 50 Med, and 25 Min. Destn: Tinker AFB OK 73145-3032. Delivery: January 2006. The approximate issue date of solicitation will be 23 November 2004. Government/Commercial New and Unused surplus is acceptable. The anticipated award date is January 2005. Due to the complexity and criticality of this part, only actual manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing required by the original company responsible for the design, can be considered approved sources for this item. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation. Written quotations are required. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with United Technologies Corp. Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source selection process.
