- The 347th Contracting Squadron/MSCB is seeking sources to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for a Protestant Religious Education (RE) Coordinator. The Protestant RE Coordinator will be responsible to the Chaplains for all Protestant RE program of the base chapel. The Protestant RE Coordinator will work with the Chaplains in interpreting and preparing policies and procedures applicable to the total program. The Protestant RE Coordinator will advise the Chaplains on all areas of Protestant RE program management. The Protestant RE Coordinator will possess the following qualifications: a. One year experience, or formal training as a teacher in a Protestant RE program of a military chapel or equivalent program in a civilian church. b. Must have workable knowledge of the doctrine and beliefs of the Protestant religion and become involved in the base Protestant chapel program. c. Use knowledge of seasonal religious emphasis to select appropriate lessons/topics in line with the church calendar. d. Must have access to a vehicle to be used in support of work as necessary. e. Must be able to work effectively with people in a religiously pluralistic environment. f. Must have a basic working knowledge of a computer. g. Must maintain a harmonious relationship with teachers, students, parents and the chapel staff. The Protestant RE Coordinator specific tasks are: a. Responsible for the recruitment and training of teachers, aides and staff members of the Protestant RE program. b. Coordinator for the RE program on Sunday morning; insure all staff personnel are present and prepared for class, provide all materials and help as needed. c. Serve as substitute as needed. d. Attend meetings of the Protestant Parish Council and keep this group updated on the progress and/or problems of the RE program. Also responsible for briefing the Chaplain once a week. e. Periodically enhance skills by attending education seminars, etc. f. Ensure teacher presence in every classroom during the religious school period. g. Keep weekly and monthly records on the chapel religious school, teachers and volunteers. h. Esnure proper attendance records are kept and given to the Chaplain and the chapel support personnel. i. Coordinate supplies and equipment requirements with teachers and aides. j. Order and supplement RE school curriculum and materials. Accomplish curriculum order and distribution in coordination with the Chaplain. k. Provide orientation and updating, as required for new teachers and aides. l. Do budgeting for RE materials with the Chaplain. m. Maintain the Protestant bulletin boards. n. Maint master enrollment of students. o. Maintain a list of substitute teachers and find adequate substitutes. p. Submit all written announcements to the Chaplain for inclusion in the chapel bulletin or base paper. Submit all information newsletters to the Chaplain to inform parents and teachers of religious education news. q. Serve as liaison between the teachers, parents and chapel staff. r. Advise the Chaplain of problems with facilities or equipment. s. Operate audio-visual equipment, copier or other facsimile devices. Ability to request base reproduction services. t. Open facilities before class and secure all facilities after classes, to include all doors and windows. Ensure all electrical appliances are unplugged. u. Safeguard and secure all government equipment and supplies. v. Responsible for fire prevention and AFOSH standards. w. Maintain regular office hours at the base chapel. x. Maintain current locator and contact information with base chapel. y. Feedback and evaluations will be conducted quarterly. z. Create and implement a yearly Protestant Religious Education Program calendar. The performance period is one year (20 Nov 04 through 19 Nov 05) with four one-year option periods, unless either party cancels the agreement by providing a 30 day written notification.
