- Description
- This is a total set-aside for HBCU/MIs. The Department of Defense announces the fiscal year 2005 DoD Infrastructure Support Program for Historically Black Colleges and Universities And Minority Institutions. The program is executed under the policy and guidance of the Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering (ODDR&E) and administered through the Army Research Office (ARO) and the Air Force (AFOSR). Goals of the program include (a) enhancing programs and capabilities at these insti tutions in scientific and engineering disciplines critical to the national security functions of DoD and (b) increasing the number of graduates, including underrepresented minorities, in fields of science, mathematics and/or engineering. Awards made under this program will support equipment acquisition, research, or a combination of these. Awards will be limited to institutions having accredited, degree-granting programs in science, mathematics, and/or engineering. The BAA contains additional eligibility information, along with instructions for proposal preparation and submission. This program is not intended to fund construction nor general purpose office equipment. Approximately $8 million fiscal year 2005 funds are expected to be available for new awa rds under this solicitation. The BAA will only be available via the internet. The BAA will be available for downloading and viewing at http://www.aro.army.mil (click on Funding Opportunities) on or about 8 November 2004. Proposals are due at the address (es) specified in the BAA on Friday, 21 January 2005, 4:00pm local time.
