Description

The National Park Service, Department of the Interior, is soliciting quotes from contractors having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Dearpement of the Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Prospective offerors desiring to cndouct business with DOI are requested to register at the NBC site. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Subscribers to this service are ultimately responsible for reviewing the website for all information relevant to this solicitation. Prospective vendors will be required to visit this website periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the contract documents. No other notifications will be sent. The work of this contract shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision required to complete the installation of two watering troughs and a drain line which will extend approximately 2300 feet. The beginning of the drain will start at the non-historic man-made pond area in pastrue field #1, which will be the water collecting source from the old field drain system. From this location, the drain line will move through the low area to one of teh concrete troughs to be installed, this will provide water to the trough for livestock, and at the same time eliminate the standing water on the field in pasture #1. The drain pipe will then move through the orchard area into pasture #3, where another trough twill be installed and then finally outlet into the streambed, approximatley 900 feet from the stone bridge on Richardson Avenue. The man made pond/berm area in field #1 will be re-graded and restored as close as possible to the sourrounding natural countours of the field. The pipe used will be 4" SDR-35 PVC pipe, which will lay in gravel, allowing the pipe to move water to the troughs and down to the outlet on the streambed. The trench which will need to be dug, to a minimum depth of 30", to be below the frost line. Rehabilitation of excavated areas will include seeding of native grasses, including annual reygrass or barley. The barnyard area may be temporarily closed for the recovery of the ground condition and to allow for the seeding to take hold. Seeding dates should be between March 1 - May 15 and August 1 - October 15. In addtion, the park will also include a 1500 foot line consisting of 6" perforated PVC pipe that will extend 1500 feet from the western most orchard fence to the stream outlet. This pipe will lie in the same trench as the solid line and will have a cap extension that will come to the ground surface. This line's purpose will be to drain the orchard and lower pasture field of standing water. This will be installed by the contractor. The NAICS code for this procurement is 234910. The PSC Code is Y219. The size standard is $28.5 million.
