- The Ogden Air Logistics Center, Training Systems Management Directorate (OO-ALC/YW) is conducting a market investigation in address refurbishment of Thales Training & Simulation Limited (TT&SL), Phebus projector Tube Assemblies. The purpose of this market research inquiry is to poll the business community and determine what businesses have the capability of refurbishing Phebus Tube Assemblies. The KC-10 program has 4 flight simulators and the KC-135 program has 19 flight simulators. Each of these simulators has a TT&SL WIDE type, 5-channel calligraphic display system with Phebus Projectors. Each projector (of the 5 projectors per simulator) has 3 tube assemblies (red, green, blue). These tube assemblies have a limited mean time between failures (MTBF). Periodically, the tube assemblies must be refurbished. The refurbishment includes not only a replacement of the tube, but also refurbishment of the electronics, alignment adjustments, etc. to bring the tube assembly back to new condition. The TT&SL part numbers for the Phebus projector tube assemblies are shown below.
