The information exchanged as a result of this RFI has helped to mold the role for Industry's participation in the spiral development of Mission Packages. PMS420 is interested in continued feedback and ideas from Industry that may have evolved as a result of the information exchanged at Industry Day. This RFI will remain in tact until January 31, 2005 for this continued communications with Industry. PMS420 has posted the Industry Day briefs on the LCS webpage: http://peoships.crane.navy.mil/lcs Also, Industry requested the J-5A, a document that defines the Mission Package-to-Ship Interfaces. A CD containing this document can be mailed to requesting companies as follows: Provide your request, including POC, address, and security clearance information, via the about PMS420Calendar email address. Upon receipt of required information, a CD will be mailed to the requestor. At Industry Day, PMS420 described two ways Industry can participate in the Program - (1) As the Mission Package Integrator (MPI) and (2) as a developer who provides new technology solutions. PMS420 will be issuing a draft RFP for the Mission Package Integrator (MPI) in the near future, to provide Industry further opportunity to share additional comments on PMS 420's plan to spiral develop Mission Packages. The Draft RFP will provide a refined definition of the role of the Mission Package Integrator (MPI). The timeline for RFP development was shared at Industry Day, with an award date targeted for the end of year 2005. Industry is encouraged to share technology solutions to PMS420 post Industry Day and as the program moves ahead.
