- Description of Requirement: The Federal Aviation Administration plans to extend an existing contract with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) for a period of 14 months with three (3) one (1) year options to allow completion of on-going requirements. CSC currently provides software development and engineering support services under the En Route Software Development and Support (ERSDS) III contract. The continuation of ongoing services is essential to support completion of the final planned Host release prior to the En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program. The Host A5f1.6 release contains safety related enhancements and operational improvements that are required prior to ERAM and must be deployed on schedule to provide needed capabilities and support contingent programs. The incumbent contractor possesses skilled and trained resources knowledgeable in the technical aspects of the Host computer in general and the specific changes included in the final A5f1.6 release, as well as the processes, procedures and equipment in place necessary to complete the A5f1.6 release. Continued work is also being done to complete final documentation of the En Route Information Display System (ERIDS) prototype.To minimize risk and ensure the continuity of services, the FAA does not intend to conduct a competitive solicitation for this procurement action. If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of requisite capabilities and experience in providing similar services for FAA to evaluate.
