Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) Only. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to replace our Trailerable Aids to Navigation Boat (TANB). The TANB is the workhorse for most Aids to Navigation Teams (ANTs). TANBs are used to provide rapid discrepancy response in semi-exposed and protected waters, and to service aids located in shallow water. ANTs have primary responsibility for 22,115 aids or 62% of the federal aid total. The current TANBs were built between 1980 and 1992 with a projected service life of 7 years. They have not only reached but also surpassed their useful service life. Some TANBs have been renovated to extend their service life for an additional 5 years. Even those only have a few years of operational life left before they too need replacing. The intent of the TANB replacement project is to capture the lessons learned from the U.S. Coast Guard?s (USCG) use of the TANB, capitalize on the advances of boat design and manufacture as well as make use of the latest technology to provide our ANTs with the most capable, dependable and reliable resource to conduct the Short Range Aids to Navigation (SRA) mission. The attached document contains the DRAFT requirements for this RFI. Please submit all information in response to this Request for Information to Ms. Jennie Peterson, 2100 Second Street, SW, Washington, DC 20593-0001; (202) 267-2523. Documents less than 20 pages may be sent electronically to jpeterson@comdt.uscg.mil. The deadline for submission for all information in response to this RFI is 7 December 2004. The attached document contains the DRAFT requirements for this RFI. ****
