Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDIV Newport intends to issue a sole source contract to Martinez & Turek, Rialto, CA for the modification of the following items: 1. Two MK 12 Controllable Air Firing Valve Bedplates; 2. Three MK 21 Air Turbine Pump Muffler Caps; 3. Three MK 21 Outer Heads for Muffler Caps. Martinez & Turek is the sole manufacturer of these items and has developed the welding processes and QA systems meeting the drawing specifications for these titanium items. Use of any other firm would require first article testing of these components for form, fit and function at an additional cost which would greatly exceed the estimated cost of the modifications. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
