Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is using this special notice synopsis to encourage exchange of information with industry concerning the Unit Operations Center (UOC) Total Life Cycle Systems Management (TLCSM). The Program Manager (PM) UOC is responsible for providing the requisite support capability to maintain the system?s readiness, sustainment and operational capability. Emphasis is placed on increasing reliability and reducing logistics footprint in the systems engineering process, and providing effective sustainment support using Performance Based Logistics (PBL) strategies. The overall intention of the PBL initiative is to acquire support as an integrated, affordable, performance package designed to optimize system readiness and meet performance goals through long-term support arrangements. The Statement of Objectives (SOO) is included in the attachment. There is no funded requirement at this time. However, it is the Government's intent to encourage exchange of information to improve the Government's understanding of industry capabilities and existing and potential technologies in order to determine a realistic solution. It is the Government?s intent to hold an Industry Day on 9 December 2004 at the Marine Corps Combat Development Center (MCCDC) Auditorium, Quantico, Virginia to discuss capabilities and potential solutions. All interested organizations are invited to participate. This will provide industry a valuable opportunity for input, questions, and answers. Due to limited space, total participation can be no more than 80 participants, with a limit of four representatives per company. Attendees are encouraged to car pool due to limited parking spaces. To reserve space on a first-come, first-serve basis, contact Valerie Tolan at (703) 432-4106 or email tolanvk@mcsc.usmc.mil. Reservations shall be received no later than 4 December 2004. The meeting will be unclassified. No acquisition strategy will be discussed. Participation is totally voluntary, and the government will not reimburse the attendees for any cost associated with participation and is under no obligation to award any related contract associated with this event.
