Description
AMENDMENT #0001 TO SOLICITATION #TIRWR-05-Q-00007 IS ISSUED FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1) To disseminate questions and related responses; 2) Extend the Proposal Due Date to: December 1, 2004, 4:00 p.m. PST; 3) Specify the required number of copies of price proposals: Response to Solicitation shall be submitted as follows: • One (1) Original, and • One (1) Duplicate Copy to the "Issued By" address shown in Box 6 of this amendment. RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS: 1) Is use of a sub-contractor for this contract acceptable? Response: “Limited” sub-contracting is allowed --- 50% of the cost of the contract must be performed by the prime contractor. Please refer to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.219-14, Limitations on Subcontracting, (b) By submission of an offer and execution of a contract, the Offeror / Contractor agrees that in performance of the contract in the case of a contract for (1) Services (except construction). At least 50 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel shall be expended for employees of the concern. Response: Yes, two (2) people are required to run this route, in accordance to Internal Revenue Manual 3.8.45.1.11.1 Courier Service Requirements and Responsibilities (02-01-2004). 3) What is the average volume of pallets on the Dedicated Truck Route? Response: The average volume of pallets on the Dedicated Truck Rout is four (4) pallets. 4) Is all the mail and documents in wheeled carts so they can be pushed onto the trucks without the use of a forklift? Response: No, all of the items are not on wheeled carts. 5) Is the Dedicated Truck Route needed 5 (Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday?)or 7 days per week? Response: The Dedicated Truck Route is required five (5) days a week, Monday through Friday. 6) For the Dedicated Truck Route; is the IRS Deposit location separate from the Main Building Dock area? Response: Yes, the IRS Deposit location is separate from the Main Building Dock area. 7) For the USPS – ARKA Run; what volume of cages is to be expected? Response: For the USPS – ARKA Run, the volume of cages is approximately ten (10). 8) For the USPS –ARKA Run can the cages be pushed on wheels? Response: Yes, for the USPS – ARKS Run, the cages can be pushed on wheels. 9) On the pricing page the ‘Additional Service’ Price per run is for additional roundtrip runs between IRS Main Building and ARKA: Please confirm. Response: The "Additional Services" {Price Per Run} is the cost for roundtrips between the two IRS buildings that are NOT covered under Basic Services. 10) For the Basic Services pricing; monthly pricing for the 2 daily roundtrip runs between the IRS Main Building-ARKA and the 1 daily USPS-ARKA one way trip is to be totaled in Column 23 with the yearly extension in Column 24. Please confirm. Response: Column 23. Unit Price = Monthly Price; Column 24. Amount = 12 Months x Monthly Price 11) What is the current monthly price for the Basic Services (2 daily roundtrip runs between the IRS Main Building-ARKA and the 1 daily USPS-ARKA one way trip)? Response: Services currently being provided by IRS personnel. 12) What is the current price for the Additional Run (Roundtrip IRS Main Building – ARKA Run)? Response: Services currently being provided by IRS personnel. 13) How much notice is given if an Additional Run is needed? Response: Two (2) hour notice is given to the contractor if an Additional Run is required. 14) Who is the current vendor for this contract? Response: Services currently being provided by IRS personnel.
