Description
This is Sources Sought/Request For Information. The U. S. Coast Guard is looking for product information concerning a bullet trap system for an indoor firing range. Last year, this particular range expended over 1.2 million rounds using pistols, shotguns, rifles, machine guns, and armor- piercing rounds. An increase in use is expected in the future. As a minimum, this product must meet the criteria listed below: A low angle deflector plate that guides a spent bullet to into a collection area vice the use of smash plates. A circular deceleration tray that collects spent bullets for disposal. A lubrication system that circulates a liquid that flows over the entire system. The ability of the system to accommodate automatic weapons fire and the use of armor?piercing rounds. Ability to reduce lead emissions and facilitate collection and disposal of lead without using hazardous waste handling procedures. Other factors that will be considered are: The ability of the system to fit into the existing range; Anticipated maintenance cycle costs; Service life of the deflectors; Companies with new technologies closely matching these criteria may also submit product literature. Please limit literature to a minimum. All information collected from this request will be used for planning purposes only and does not obligate the government. All interested sources are encouraged to submit company and product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government?s evaluation.
