Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to purchase an additional 20,000 copies of eTrust Antivirus software and maintenance support under and existing contract with Computer Associates (CA) International, Inc. The eTrust Antivirus software is an Agency standard product, used to provide protection against virus attacks on every workstation, laptop and server in SSA?s Information Technology (IT) environment. The eTrust Antivirus provides rapid delivery of signature files throughout the IT infrastructure; and improves virus reporting information and incident data collection. This software reduces virus infections, simplifies and automates updating reports, and eases security administration. It is certified by the International Computer Security Association (ICSA) Labs for detecting 100 percent of ?in the wild? viruses. CA is the only known source capable of satisfying SSA?s requirement for additional licenses and maintenance support. Other organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA contract information) within 7 calendar days from the date of this publication. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided. If no other responses are received, SSA plans to place an order with Computer Associates International, Inc. for the required additional software licenses and maintenance support.
