Description
The USCG Maintenance and Logistics Command, Pacific in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the drydock repair of the USCGC RUSH (WHEC 723). This requirement is not geographically restricted. To be eligible for award, the contractor must possess a dry dock facility that has been certified by MLPCAC under MLCPAC Naval Engineering Division Standard Specification 997. The cutter will be available for performance from 13 April 2005 through 7 June 2005. The work includes, but is not limited to, production control, Gantt bar chart provide; hull plating, underwater body inspect; hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing; appendages (underwater) leak test; appendages (underwater) preserve, internal; propulsion shaft fairwaters and rope guards inspect and repair; controllable pitch propeller system general maintenance; sea strainers (all sizes) overhaul; sea valve (<=2.5 inches) renewal; sea valve (>2.5 inches) overhaul; thruster unit (general) overhaul; anchor chain and ground tackle inspect and repair; hull plating, underwater body preserve, partial; freeboard preservation; temporary services, dry dock provide. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement is 336611 with a size standard of 1000 employees. On or about 15 December 2004 a Request for Proposals will be available electronically at http://www.fedbizopps.gov with a proposal closing date of 14 January 2005. This will be a best-value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further information concerning the STLP, call the OSDBU at 1-800-532-1169.
