Description
Background: The Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) is the next generation helmet-mounted night vision goggle for the U.S. Army. The ENVG combines images from image intensification and infrared sensors to allow the individual soldier to perform mis sions under all light levels and when visibility is reduced due to smoke or dust. Situational awareness is improved because ENVGs infrared sensor provides the Soldier with the capability to rapidly detect and recognize man-sized targets while maintaining the ability to see detail with the image intensifier sensor. The image intensifier allows ENVG to be compatible with rifle-mounted aiming lights. Request: The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center intends to issue Request for Proposal W91CRB-05-R-0006 on or about 14 December 2004 for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) ENVG assets, spare components, development of supporting logistics and techn ical documentation, performance of a Logistics Demonstration (LD) and execution of Developmental Testing (DT) and Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E).
