Description

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as statistical resource to the Department of Labor. BLS data satisfies a number of criteria including relevance to current social and economic issues, timeliness in reflecting today?s rapidly changing economic conditions, accuracy and consistently high statistical quality, and impartiality in both subject matter and presentation. The BLS wishes to identify techniques available which allow for the replacement of carpet without requiring the dismantling of systems furniture located in the carpeted space. Specifically, the BLS wishes to identify procedures and/or equipment available that allows for the replacement of carpet in large work areas without requiring the dismantling of the systems furniture present in the work areas. BLS space at the Postal Square Building (PSB) is comprised of approximately 6 floors totaling approximately 423,680 square feet of carpeted areas. The carpet used throughout the PSB is 24? by 24? carpet tile, manufactured by Interface Flooring Systems. Interested parties are requested to submit Qualifications/Capabilities Statements identifying the technique that will allow for the replacement of carpet without dismantling of systems furniture. All Qualifications/Capabilities Statements received will be considered by the Government.
