- The National Park Service issued a pre-notice of availability of a prospectus for solicitation of proposals for provision of services within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This is the solicitation notice. These services include guided, interpretive pontoon-type raft tours, limited marina, retail and other services. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is located in southern Nevada and northern Arizona, approximately 25 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada. The term of the contract is five years and proposals will be due February 2, 2005. The annual gross receipts for 2003 were $1,915,425. There is no concession improvement program and no requirement to purchase possessory interest or personal proeprty of the existing concessioner. In accordance with 36 CFR Part 51, Subparts E and F, the existing concessioner is not a preferred offeror and does not have a preferential right in renewal. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the concession contract. The cost for purchase of a prospectus is $75 by mail or $65 if picked up in person and will be available December 3, 2004. Parties interested in obtaining a prospectus should mail or bring in person a check or money order (No cash sales) made payable to the National Park Service. Prospectus copies can be obtained from the National Park Service, Pacific West Region, Office of Concession Program Management, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607. If purchased by mail, the front of the envelope should be marked "Attention: Office of Concession Program Management - Mailroom Do Not Open".
