Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to solicit and negotiate a sole-source modification to incorporate the State of Alaska under Panacea Consulting, Incorporated?s current contract number SS00-04-60116 for nationwide document scanning services. The delivery time for source documents to the contractor?s scanning facility will be 3 business days. The estimated volumes are: 38,000 documents for fiscal year (FY) 2005 (from June through September 2005); 100,000 documents for FY 2006; 175,000 documents per year for FYs 2007 and 2008; and 150,000 documents for FY 2009. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302. SSA has a reasonable basis to conclude that the Agency?s minimum needs for these services can only be met under the existing contract in order to maintain and protect the integrity (including project approach and management, cost and schedule) of SSA?s initiative to convert to electronic disability folders. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, as provided by FAR 5.203(a)(1), all responses received within fifteen (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
