Description
Description: The US Army ARDEC, Program Manager for Crew Served Weapons, Picatinny NJ is seeking sources of a mature (in production) or near mature (in development with production planned by January 05) gunner-operated system that provides the capability to remotely aim and fire a suite of crew served weapons. The system shall be capable of mounting on a variety of vehicles, and will use the host vehicle system power. The system minimally consists of a weapon cradle, traverse and elevation drives, weapon interface, weapon remote charger, ammunition magazine feed system, viewing and sighting/stabilization unit, remote control and display unit and an electronics support unit/fire control processor. The system shall be capable of mounting to the upper horizontal surface (roof), or existing mounting ring, on any of a suite of combat vehicles. The system mount geometry shall be generic (not specific to any particular vehicle); vehicle-specific mounting considerations shall be accommodated by an integration kit. However at a minimum the system must be capable of being mounted on the M1114 Up-armored HMMWV (Armored Scouts/Military Police), M1116 Up-armored HMMWV (US Air Force), M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (Military Police) XM707 STRIKER HMMWV (desired), LAV III, Stryker (desired) M93 Fox (Chemical Reconnaissance) (desired) M270, Multiple Launch Rocket System (desired), and M113 APC (Infantry) (desired). The system shall be designed to integrate Mk19 40mm Grenade Machine Gun, M2HB 50 cal Machine Gun, M240 7.62mm Machine Gun and the M249 5.56mm Squad Automatic Weapon. The system shall incorporate a single through-hull, quick-disconnect, electrical connector for all system signals and power. The connector shall provide protection against misalignment and shall provide identification of interconnected weapon system. The weapon system must also meet US military operational safety requirements. Ramp up period and delivery schedule for 230 units should be included. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and rough indication of pricing for a single unit as well as a proposed integration kit to the vehicle. These should be sent, if available and at no cost to the US Government, within 21 days of this announcement to US Army ARDEC.
