Description

This is not a notice for a solicitation . This is a Request for Information (RFI); neither a draft statement of work nor specifications are available. The information received will be used as part of a market survey. The Government does not intend to award a contract or any type of agreement on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information solicited under this RFI. The U.S. Geological Survey (a scientific organization), Design and Construction Service Section, is seeking information on the capability of small business firms and 8(a) firms to provide an array of A&E services. The types of services to be provided will include those services normally required by an architectural-engineering firm such as, but not limited to: (1) planning, design, development of construction cost estimates; (2) program evaluations; (3) feasibility studies; (4) performance of design document reviews: (5) value engineering studies and reports; (6) construction management and inspection; (7) facility condition assessments; (8) facility maintenance; (9) automated database maintenance management systems; (10) excess facility disposal; (11) inventory management systems; (12) engineering studies to include life cycle cost analysis; and (13) energy audits. It is anticipated that an Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity contract will be awarded. The contract would be set up to allow for the placement of orders by any warranted U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Contracting Officer located throughout the United States. The USGS is interested in obtaining commercially available information from the small business and 8(a) vendor community on their capability to provide the above described services. Responses should specifically address the vendor's ability to provide the services (1) through (13) above in-house. Those services which would be required to be subcontracted should be identified. Questions and all responses should be submitted to the Contracting Officer, Maggie Eastman, at mrussell@usgs.gov. Responses are due no later than 10:00 am, EST, Monday, December 13, 2004.
