Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract for Program Manager for Ammunition with Talon Manufacturing Company for the acquisition of 1,002,000 rounds of reworked Cartridge, Caliber .50 4/API M8 and 1/API-T M20 Linked for approximately $1,252,500. The rounds are being procured to support Marine Corps training requirements. The reworked ammunition, Cartridge, Caliber .50 4/API M8 and 1/API-T M20, must meet the requirements of MIL-C-3066 ?Cartridges, Caliber .50: Armor-Piercing-Incendiary, M8; and Armor-Piercing-Incendiary-Tracer, M20?. This includes 1,000 rounds for First Article Testing (FAT) for M8; 1,000 rounds for First Article Testing M20; and delivery of 1,000,000 rounds. The FAT rounds are to be delivered six months after contract award and 250,000 rounds to be delivered every month thereafter. The contractor must be able to obtain and recycle existing ammunition and/or components to produce the reworked ammunition. The contractor must be ISO certified; have the capability to meet all U. S. Government and Military storage requirements/ restrictions normally imposed on storage of similar munitions and have existing production tooling. Interested Parties should reply by submitting a written proposal no later than 06 January 2005 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Code 204, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA. 22134. Interested Parties who are willing to provide test assets of a proposed design, at no cost to the USMC for testing should so indicate in the submitted white paper.
